What is the output voltage level when Vcc = 3.3V and Vinputs are in the range +5V. Whether the output will follow Vcc supply voltage or Vinputs.

  • The purpose of a differential receiver like this is to convert any input signal inside the valid common-mode range (±7 V) into a proper logic signal at the output. As shown by the VOL/VOH specifications, the output voltage is determined by VCC.

  • Hi Balaram,

Outputs are bounded by VCC and GND - Clemens analysis is correct.  Essentially the differential receiver will convert the differential voltage to a logic level bounded by VOL/VOH (if the load is high impedance - and you are only drawing 100uA or less then VOL = 0.1V (max) and VOH = VCC - 0.1 (max) - more current output will attenuate the output voltage).

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
