Can I leave the control pin open if I want a GND condition?

    Greetings,

    Yes if default or GND settings meets your requirement. In general, it is a good practice to use a low value Resistor - for example 1K ohm - to tie control pins to GND. This is because if there is some spikes on the GND this will protect the input.
