TCAN1167-Q1: Safety FMEDA report- Fit data

Part Number: TCAN1167-Q1

In FMEDA report, what does safety related Fit means? What‘s the single point +residual failure rate?  the date in below table not quite clear, take permanent of die  as an example, does  single point +residual failure rate= 8.13 fit or = 8.13*69.36% ?

  • Hi Linda,

Thanks for reaching out. These definitions are provided earlier in the document in section 2.2.6 "Totals - ISO26262 Tab" for SFFS142. Safety related FIT is defined here as the subset of the total FIT (failure-in-time) that includes only the design blocks or device pins that are indicated as safety related.

The percentages in the last two rows represent the percentage of the total coverage that is present for detecting/preventing SPF or LF conditions.

Also, please keep in mind that the table you're looking at is just an example calculation table within a section titled 2.3 "Example Calculation of Metrics" - it might not match exactly what your systems requirements might require and might produce using the full FMEDA spreadsheet tool.

    Best,

    Danny
