DS160PT801: retimer

Part Number: DS160PT801

Hi,

I am new to the application using retimer IC, I would like to know whether an add in card with retimer IC needs a EEPROM.

what is the function of an EEPROM in a add in card?

Thanks and Regards,

Shekha Shoukath

  • Hi Shekha,

Thanks for reaching out. The DS160PT801 retimer can be programmed over SMBus or EEPROM depending on your application. The EEPROM allows for automatic and custom register configurations to be loaded upon power-up of the retimer.

  • Hi,

What programming has to be done to retimer via SM bus or EEPROM?

As I am new to retimer application , i am not aware about the program that has to be loaded on the same.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Shekha,

Configuration of register-only retimer settings can be performed using SMBus or EEPROM. If you would like to learn more about available programming of the DS160PT801, please request access to supporting DS160PT801 documentation using this link.
