Hello,
I want to interface the TMDS171 dff output to a CML logic acceptable device.
Is it necessary to add pullup 50 ohm to 3.3 externally or pullup 50 ohm to 3.3 exists internally in the TMDS171 transmitter output?
The differntial channels are high speed communication (2.5Gbps per lane) and I am afraid that the addition of the pullup res will affect on the signal integrity
Thank you
Einav
Hello,
I am looking into this and will get back to you shortly.
Thanks,
Zach
Hello, Einav,
The 8.2 Functional Block Diagram shows that the device has a 50 ohm pull up internally at the input to the device equalizer.
The 50 ohm termination in the output should be internal to the sink device that is being connected at the output end. For example, see the Figure 10. Jitter Measurement Circuit in the datasheet.
Thanks,
Zach
