TCAN332G: Inquiry about Compatibility between SN65HVD230 and TCAN332G

Part Number: TCAN332G
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD230, TCAN334G

Hello,

I am considering using TI's CAN transceivers for our new project and have some questions regarding the compatibility between SN65HVD230 and TCAN332G.

Our application requires a low-power and high immunity solution.

I would like to know if these two chips can be used interchangeably within the same CAN network? Additionally, if there are specific configurations or considerations that need to be addressed to ensure they work correctly together, please advise. Thank you!

  • Hi Luke,

Thanks for your reaching out. Yes TCAN332G is a pin-to-pin drop in replacement for SN64HVD230. However if a low-power mode is required I would recommend to use TCAN334G or 337G instead, please see the following slides for an overview of our  3.3V CAN portfolio.

Let me know if you have more questions.
