Tool/software:
What happens if I communicate using two SN65HVD01s and set different speeds for each?
If I set IC 1 to 250kbps with SLR set to VL and set IC 2 to 20Mbps with GND, will communication work?
Or, if set to GND, it is set to 20Mbps, but can communicate at 250kbps. Will there be a problem if both SN65HVD01 are set to GND and communicate at 250kbps?
Is it possible to change the firmware to change 20Mbps to 250kbps for communication?
The SLR pin sets the maximum speed that the device can transmit. 250 kbps always works, and the receiver always can handle up to 20 Mbps.
If you configure a driver for high speed but transmit only low-speed signals, then the output edges will be faster than necessary. This can increase EMI, but has no other effects.
I agree with Clemens on this question.
