Dears,
Is there any possible to use Channel Link III + FPD Link III for same system?
For example, DS92LX1621+ DS90UB914 or DS90UB913 + DS92lX1622...
If yes, my customer want to use same deserializer for different serializer based on different sensor.
Thanks.
Peter
It may be possible, but I would not recommend it. The FPD -III parts and the Channel Link III parts share some of the same IP, so there are many similarities, but when we test and characterize them, we do so in pairs, - DS90UB913->DS90UB914 and DS92LX1621 ->DS92LX1622 so we cannot guarantee reliable operation in mixed configurations. It would be better for your customer to standardize on one serializer/deserializer pair and use this for all sensors/ receivers.
Mark
Hi Peter,
Please note that the parts you selected are not compatible with each other, regardless of the manufacturing flow.
There is no Channel Link III equivalent of the DS90UB913Q and DS90UB914Q.
The DS92LX1621 and DS92LX1622 are compatible with the DS90UB901Q and DS90UB902Q, but as Mark mentioned they follow different characterization and manufacturing flows. The FPD-Link III parts are manufactured and tested for automotive grade specs such as temp range and ESD. The Channel LInk III parts are manufactured and tested only for industrial grade specs.
Dears,
I got it!
Thanks for your comments!
I tihnk the induatrial or automotive grade is not their major concern.
Their thinking is, they can use same higher speed deser as RX for all products and interface with higher speed
ser while they use high end sensor and vice versa.
As what you mentioned, you are not recommend it even it is possible.
Thanks.
