DS90UB913Q_4Q of PCLK & I2C problem

Hello,

I have a question and refer to the below.

>Application : Blackbox(Front,Rear) for CAR

>part : DS90UB913Q_914Q

>Problem issue :

1.Occurred DES(Lock) is Low.

DES-> SER->Sensor initial and Sensor(PLCK) Out and then DES(Lock) is Low.

2.Occurred I2C(SCL) of ISP is Low.

> I think, Debugging point : BIST control

SER : 0x14, DES : 0x24

If dubugging point is right, pls send me easy guide of BIST setting method.

And, Please review of issue & schematic and send me your comment.

Best regards,

  • Hi Eddy,

    1. Are you running in external oscillator mode or PCLK mode? Also, what length cable are you using and are you transporting the data over coax or STP? If you are not maintaining a stable LOCK then most likely there is too much jitter on the data being sent from the 913Q to the 914Q.

    2. Is the ISP device the I2C master and the 914Q device the local slave? If so, please ensure that the ISP device supports clock (SCL) stretching. Also, do both reads and writes fail on the 914Q when addressing the device from the ISP?

In order to debug using BIST, please refer to pages 53-55 of our datasheet. This is an easy to understand guide for setting up the BIST mode to debug any issues.

  • Hi Sean

    Thank you for your answer.

1.PCLK and External clock is same. And cable is not problem.I try to test Ti-EVM+sensor+ISP bd and same problem.

2.Yes.ISP I2C is master and 914Q is Slave.Clock stretching is not problem. And ISP not control I2C of 914Q.

I doubt, SoC sensor & Bayer sensor different operation. And Bayer sensor have some issue.

Sensor Initial-> Lock,down->PCLK, is not operation.
