Hi.
I have a TCA6424A connected to a Nordic Semiconductor nRF51822 as a main processor. The Nordic is the I2C master to the TCA6424A. Each part is on a different board, with a 700mm cable in between connecting SCL, SDA and GND, but NOT VCCI. VCCI comes from a coin cell battery on the board with the TCA6424A, but is the same voltage as logic high on the Nordic: 3.0V.
I have foolishly left the RESET pin on the TCA6424A floating in my design. Checking the datasheet, it should be high, with a pull up resistor. What can I expect to see here? Should the TCA6424A work at all?
What I'm actually seeing is that there's never any address ACK when I try and send a read or write.
