DS110RT410 - Recommended register setting for 10GbE

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS110RT410

Hello,

My customer is considering DS110RT410 for 10Gpbs Ethernet.
He has questions about DS110RT410.

[Q1]
Do you have a sample configuration examples of recommended register settings for 10 Gigabit Ethernet?
(About the address of register and the recommended setting that need for 10 Gigabit Ethernet )

[Q2]
The description of the address 0x64 of DS110RT410 data sheet (page 47), have been described as
"Must also program channel register 0x67[7]" and "Must also program channel register 0x67[6]".
However, the register 0x67 are reserved.
Is this the correct?

My custermer set bits 7:6 of register 0x67 to value of 2'b11.
But, value 2'b00 are readed from bits 7:6 of register 0x67.
Data sheet has been described as "RW".
Can this register (0x67) write and read?

Best regards,

  • Q1

The default DS110RT410 CDR rate/subrate configuration locks to 10GE and 1GE input signals. The following parameters can be adjusted depending on the retimer pre-channel and post-channel in your application

    Tx voltage output differential

    Tx de-emphasis (post-cursor EQ)

    Rx adapt mode

You may refer to the DS110RT410 datasheet for info on what retimer channel registers allow you to configure these parameters

Q2(a) - The description of the address 0x64 of DS110RT410 data sheet (page 47), have been described as  "Must also program channel register 0x67[7]" and "Must also program channel register 0x67[6]". However, the register 0x67 are reserved. Is this the correct?

    Yes.

Make sure the customer is selecting share registers via register 0xFF (see datasheet excerpt below.)

  • Rodrigo-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I understood your answer.
I will tell them of the contents to the customer.

The contents of Q2, I have additional questions to you.

    [Q]
The description of the address 0x64 of DS110RT410 data sheet (page 47), have been described as
"Must also program channel register 0x67[7]" and "Must also program channel register 0x67[6]".
When setting register 0x64, is it always also necessary to set register 0x67[7:6]?

Since I can not find the description of the set of register 0x67 in "7.4.4 Standards-Based Modes"
description of  the data sheet (16-page), I made this question.

    Best regards,

    Hiroaki Masumoto
