LMH1981: Sync extractor with LTC signal

Hi all,

I have a single 75R input that can be fed by a LTC signal or a black burst signal.

I would like to use the LMH1981 as the sync extractor. What should I do for the LTC signal ? Just use an op-amp circuit in parallel ? Are there some recommendations to garantee signal integrity ? Is there an example design ? For the LTC circuit, what do you recommend ?

I thought of using a fanout buffer that will duplicate my input signal: one for the LMH1981 and the second one for the LTC circuit. Is it a good idea and if yes, do you have that kind of fanout buffer ?

Hi Benoit,

Some comments from the LMH1xxx team:

- If the NET to the LTC input (AUX_IO) can be kept short to avoid transmission line stub then the signal integrity might be ok without an analog video fanout.

- If you think that some kind of fanout circuit is needed then you can look at the 2 below options:

Your video input could drive two input channels and the output channels can be used to separately drive the sync extractor and LTC circuits.

Yes the net is very short (22,59mm).

Thus, I do not need an analog video fanout.

Thanks for the references anyway, I could use them in other applications.
