TPS2051B: PowerPad connection not specified

Part Number: TPS2051B

The datasheet for the TPS20xxB specifies that the PowerPad should be connected to ground on the TPS20x2B Pin Functions table, but does not even mention the PowerPad on the TPS20x1B Pin Functions table. It probably should be connected to ground, however, I don't want to make assumptions in my design.

Can you please let me know if I can connect the PowerPad to ground on the TPS2051BDGNR part?

Can you also have the datasheet updated so that others don't have this issue too?

We are in the middle of layout, so a prompt response is appreciated.

    Thank you for your information, you are right, it seems that we missed the PowerPad information on the TPS20x1BDGN part pin functions table.

    Actually, the PowerPad on tps20x1BDGN just like the Power Pad on TPS20x2B. Please go ahead connect the power pad to ground. Here's the user's guide for TPS20xx EVM, www.ti.com/.../slvu226b.pdf. Please refer to figure 7 for layout of TPS2051BDGNR.
