TLK1501EVM: Receive Data Byte 0 and Byte 1 order unpredictable

Part Number: TLK1501EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK1501

Hello !

I am using the TLK1501 EVM board. Everything is in the default configuration, with the exception of the LOOPEN jumper is removed to allow internal loopback.

We apply 62.5 Mhz to GTX_CLK

We apply 2.5 vdc to VDD and GND to GND

We install 1 jumper across the TD0 pin to bring it fixed low. TD1 - TD15 are pulled high by the EVM board pullups.

The Oscillator is on and stable.

Next Power on the TLK1501 EVM.

The RX_CLK recovered clock looks ok.

The received data for TD0 (low level) is sometimes found on RD0 and sometimes found on RD8 .. ie, the byte order is flopped from the input byte order. It is a flip of the coin which order the data will appear.

The RD0 or RD8 follows the TD0 input signal properly.

Is there a simple way to get the byte order right every time on power up ?

Thanks so much for any kind assistance you might offer.
