SN65HVD1471: Hardware interface with microcontroller

Part Number: SN65HVD1471

Dear sir,

i bought SN65HVD1471, for communicating PIC18F65K40 using RS422 protocol. I can't able to understand, how it's interfacing with DB9 connector and also where to drive output and to give input in this transceiver IC.

Regards,

Sabitha

  • Hi Sabitha,

The SN65HVD1471 transceiver takes a D input from an MCU to drive a differential signal onto the Y/Z bus. The R pin is an output to an MCU from the differential signal on the A/B bus. The RE and DE pins are inputs from the MCU to enable and disable the driver and receiver.

Could you send a diagram of your application including the DB9 connector with pins labeled? I'd like to understand your question with more clarity.

    Best Regards,
    Max Megee
