TUSB8042: TUSB8042 vs TUSB8040A1

Part Number: TUSB8042
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040A1, TUSB8041

Hi Team,

Could you tell me the difference between TUSB8042 and TUSB8040A1?

My customer has used TUSB8040A1 and wants to use  for their new design as well but it became to NRND now.

Regards,

Takashi Onawa

  • Onawa-san,

Both devices are 4 port USB 3.x compatible hubs with optional I2C / SMBUS interface and battery charging support. Since the TUSB8040A1 is a 100 pin device and the TUSB8042 is a 64 pin device, there is no JTAG or LED support in the TUSB8042.

You can also see this document that explains the difference from TUSB8041 to TUSB8042: www.ti.com/.../slla377.pdf
