Hi  were using a TJA1050 and look to update with device that is more robust, The SN65HVD1050-Q1 is a potential candidate, but is about 8 years old. Does Ti offer a  later version?

The new device must be a drop in replacement

    How is the Vref being used in the customer system? The TCAN1051 has the same functions and pinout besides pin 5, which is just a no connect. The EMC, ESD, and absolute maximum levels are improved on the TCAN1051 as well.

    Typically, the Vref pin is used to drive the common-mode recessive to help with EMC, as it stabilizes the recessive level of the bus. However, with improved design, the TCAN1051 passes all EMC certifications without this pin.
