  • Hi Yaser

there have some question need check with you.

    a. the line side line card, in Host side(HD side), may we know there need set to 10GBASE-KR or XFI?

    b. Our line card SFP+ connector need SFI signal. therefore we need survey 10GBASE-KR to SFI or  XFI to SFI PHY(or Retimer)

    c. May we know what ti chip set solution use in this kind application?

                                         Bogey

  • Bogey,

If I understand your request correctly, you would like to go from 10GBASE-KR or XFI [Host] to SFI [SFP+ connector]? TI does not have specific 10GBASE-KR to SFI or XFI to SFI devices but we have a re-timer that could work for this application, DS110DF111 as well as TLK10232.

TLK10232 is a XAUI [Low Speed Side] to 10GBASE-KR/SFI/XFI [High Speed Side] with two channels, channel A and channel B. You could make an internal connection form channel one A to channel B using the internal data switch of TLK10232. This will allow you to connect the high speed sides of channel A and channel B to go from 10GBASE-KR to SFI. This will require configuring many of the internal registers as auto negotiation and link training must be disabled.
