I will use tidu196a design PLC DI.

I have some question.

1. tidu196a can be support IEC 61131-2; Type 1, 2, 3?

I need change ISO7141cc to ISO1212

2.how to use ti solution design High Speed Counting (HSC) 100KHz and up/down counter and Quadrature encoding .

1) Yes, SN65HVS885 can limit the input current to 2mA by setting resistor on the RLIM pin that fulfils the switching characteristics of IEC61131-2 Type 1 and Type 3 on the field input of the TI design.

The ISO1212 device will also support IEC 61131-2; Type 1, 2, 3

2) TI has up/down counters like the SN54AS867 that can support clock frequencies up to 35 MHz.

Here is a reference guide for enhanced quadrature encoder modules.

Hi Shawn,

The ISO7141cc can be replaced with the ISO1212 for digital inputs - please note that input voltage ranges for these devices are distinct.

Regarding the quadrature encoder, does this TI TechNote help? I'm also not sure if you have a High Speed Counter design yet, but this is one to consider as well.

The high speed counter function will be implemented with external components and software - perhaps using a microcontroller like in TIDM-HAHSCPTO. I will pass this thread to someone familiar with the design to follow up.
