XIO3130: Antenna Detection issue

Part Number: XIO3130

Hello,

I am using XIO3130 in my current design and below is the configuration to be used for the same.

  • There are Two XIO3130 used in Design so there are total 6 Antennas (3 Antenna per XIO3130).

Results:-

  1. At Power On the Board, All 6 Antennas are detected in u boot without connected the Antenna Boards.
  2. After connected the Individual Antenna Board on Antenna connectors, It will detect the Antenna in U boot for Individual Antenna..
  3. After connected the First Three(1,2 & 3) Antennas and kept rest Three (4,5 & 6) open, It will detect the First Three Antennas.
  4. After connected the Second Three(4,5 & 6) Antennas and kept rest Three (1,2 & 3) open, Behavior is random for second Three Antennas,
    1. sometime It will detect 1 or 2 Antenna
    2. sometime it will not detect any Antenna

  5. When I connect all Six Antennas simultaneously, It also have the random result, as mentioned below,
    1. First three Antennas will detect and rest three will not detect.
    2. Port for Antenna 4,5 & 6 will not shown in u boot.
    3. Only Four Antennas (1,2,3 and any one from 4,5,6) will shown in u boot

Requirement:-

After connecting all six Antennas in Antenna Connector, It will detect all six Antenna Boards at same time.

Is there any timing need to match to operate two XIO3130 simultaneously ?

  • Hello-

There is no special timing requirements when operating two independent XIO3130 devices other than design requirements that  apply to each individual device.

  • Hello Davor,

Thanks you very much for your Feedback.

Yesterday, I have observed the high frequency noise and power ON-OFF @3.3V continuously so I have placed the 2200uF bulk capacitor on 3.3V.

After adding the bulk capacitor on 3.3V, the issue was resolved means high frequency noise was eliminate and I am able to detect all 6 Antenna at same time.

So I think the issue was at the 3.3V, when the 6 Antennas are going on simultaneously, it will take peak current which is very high and create the issue.

Now we are working on Software side and if we found and problem then I will update you once I get feedback from End customer Software Team.

    Regards,
