Hello, i have a question about TPS65987D master I2C interface. Is it possible to use it to program a redriver for example and if so how would one go about it.
The redriver TUSB544 has Linear Equalization that can be programmed through I2C. Seeing that TPS65987D has a master I2C interface, is it possible to use it in this way? We want to avoid using an extra MCU just to program the redriver.
Checking the datasheets and forums couldn't find anything on how this "TPS65987D master I2C interface" is controllable. Does it read values from flash memory and sends them over I2C or is there a special way to it?
Any help is welcomed , thank you in advance.
Hello Eriks,
Yes, you can use the TPS65987D as the I2C master in such a setup. You can refer to this app note to help you get started on I2C master programming. You will need to then refer to the TUSB544 datasheet on what values you should write from the TPS65987D
