DS90UB948-Q1: whether this solution is ok: 1*948→SN65LVDS109→4*947→4*948→4*Display

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDS109, SN65LVDS117

Hi Team,

My customer used 948 and 947 before and today they would like to use 948 solution + repeater to make "1 to 4" Display expanding.

The solution they want to realize is 1*948→SN65LVDS109→4*947→4*948→4*Display

SN65LVDS109 they used is the DUAL 4-PORT LVDS REPEATERS as following.

Could you please help for confirming whether this solution is ok?

Thanks!

  • Hello Amelie,

What serializer is being used to source the first 948 input? Also what is the desired PCLK rate?

    Best Regards,

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

I double check again with customer about their solution.

The reason why they want to do such a design is because they want to do aging experiment efficiently.

    • PCLK<190MHz
    • 947 has 2 Lanes output.
    • 3840*1080 or 1920*720 60Hz

Whether it is ok to use the following solution?

  • Amelie,

This is not a good option.

for this link, the BR204 is single direction device, it means you can visit 948 through 947 since no back channel is active. also, the back channel of ub948 in panel side should be disabled. but it sounds you can't control the panel's ub948 bc output.

you can refer to ub948 d/s page35 on 1:3 repeater mode. you can try this.

    best regards,

    Steven
