TPS25833-Q1: DCP auto mode

Hi Team,

My customer considers using TPS25833-Q1 and asked the following question.

I understand TPS25833-Q1 can detect shorted or divider 3 or 1.2V-mode automatically in DCP auto mode.
Is there any material (application note etc.) that shows how to detect appropriate charging schemes?
The datasheet doesn't show the detail process.

    Hi Yaita ,

    We don't have the detailed app note for this DCP auto mode.

    The TPS25833-Q1 will stay at divider 3 mode (DP/M=2.7V) when no device attached.  If the apple device attached then it can identify this is the divier 3 port and drink suitable current. if the samsung device attached it will sink the current in DP/M then it will trigger the TPS25833-Q1 going into the 1.2V mode during this mode. The device DP/M=1.2V and samsung device will sink the suitable current. If the attached device is not apple and samsung, the TPS25833 will short the DP/M which broadcast this is the DCP port and the phone will sink the suitable current. 

    So,different attached phone will trigger the different charging mode in the TPS25833-Q1.
