TUSB564RNQEVM: FLIP doesn't work without using J1.

Can you try following ?

1. Check to see if USB is working

2. Make sure HPD pin is driven high

3. Check AUXP/N, AUXP -> 0.3V, AUXN -> 3V

4. Disable AUX snoop

5. Check equalization

I checked.

The results are below.

1. Cable is OK. The phenomenon is the same for other cables.

2. HPD signal is 3.3V. It's OK.

3. AUX signal is no problem.

    Up-side mode:   AUXp -> 0.5V,  AUXn -> 2.6V

   down-side mode:AUXp -> 0.5V,  AUXn -> 2.6V

5. EQ configuration is default.

4.How can I disable AUX snoop?

　 I tried to access the TUSB564 on EVM by I2C , but  can't access it.

   Checking schematic of EVM, TUSB564 I2C and TPS65986 GPIO0/GPIO2 are connected.

   I consider I2C doesn't work because CT0/SDA & FLIP/SCL of TUSB564 are not float.

  Could you tell me how to  disable AUX snoop?

AUX snoop is automatically and always disabled in GPIO mode and all lanes are enabled.

I understand how the AUX snoop works.

If  type-C cable is connected by up-side , no image is displayed  in GPIO mode.( =  AUX snoop is disable)

#1 - #5 is OK,  so is TUSB564 on EVM  broken?

Do you have a USB Type-C analyzer that can capture both the CC and AUX traffic? 

What is the setting for CTL0 and CTL1 between the FLIP and non-FLIP case?

 I don't have a USB analyzer.

 I have an oscilloscope that can observe waveforms.

In both cases the FLP  and non- FLT , 

CTL0 and CTL1  are set to the default  setting.

CTL0 =  1-2(PU) , CTL1 = CTL0 =  1-2(PU).

YES, JMP7 is low (GND).
