MAX3243E: About the output signal waveform.

Hi team,

I'd like to know about the signal waveform for DOUT.

My customer's waveform vibrates regularly.
I think it's the amplitude of the charge pump.
Is it correct?

And then, If ferrite beads are inserted as a noise countermeasure, the vibration frequency will change.
Ferrite beads: 2.6kHz, No ferrite beads: 1kHz
Why is the frequency different by inserting ferrite beads?

Please tell me about the cause and countermeasures.

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Kengo,

Yes, the vibration comes from the internal charge pump, or to be more specific, the regulator of the charge pump. You can check out this blog for its mechanism. The frequency changes with Ferrite beads because the beads change the load therefore the time constant of the control loop. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Hao
