Dear Expert

1.configuration procedure as follow, is it right？

a. setting  Rx EQ/DFE  ,and click Apply to ALL Channels...

...

b. setting CDR（assume the Manual Mode）and then click Apply to ALL Channels

My question is :

 (1)PPM Tolerance=5*1280=6400，is it right?

 (2)How to choose Group divider settings？

c.setting Tx DEM/PRBS Generator and then click Apply to ALL Channels

d.Click save to file and generate a cfg file. Is this file the burning file of EEPROM?

2.What is the range of VCO frequency ？8.5G~11.3G , 1/2 of its , 1/4 of its and 1/8 its ? So it means 6.4G is not avaliable for VCO frequency?

 The attachment is the configuration file, and the settings of all channels are the same。Can you help to check if it is correct ?

    1. Steps a and b look correct. Whther or not you use Tx de-emphasis and PRBS generator depends on your intended application setup.I'd suggest using 1000 PPM tolerance.The configuration file is not the same as the EEPROM file. It is simply a log file of register values, which you can subsequently load using the SigCon Architect GUI and use to configure retimer registers to your previous settings.
    2. The VCO frequency range supported is indeed 8.5G to 11.3G plus divide by 2, 4 and 8 rates.
    3. I can't give a full confirmation on correctness of configuration until you clarify the following:
      • What are you target data rates? You can choose group settings based on that.
      • What is the retimer input and output channel approximate insertion losses
      • What input signal are you feeding to the retimer input to allow its CDR to lock
