I use cross reference to search MAX7311AUG replace part and find TCA9555PWR are P2P.
May TCA9555PWR can direct replace MAX7311AUG? or something i need to remind my customer?

Hey Bogey,
The two devices do look to share some similarities however I do notice two major differences.
1) The register map for the MAX device has 2 additional registers for timeout and factory reserved register.
2) The MAX device has more address options than our device
-This may be an important detail which means depending on how the customer schematic is set up, our device may not be a suitable replacement. If you have a schematic/block diagram you can share of the specific socket we are looking to replacing then I can help you to confirm/deny this.

TCA9555 would be as good of an option as anything else here. None of our IO expanders have a bus timeout feature or this many programmable address bits. Can you please find out if these are really needed in this application?
