SN74LVC3G17: Signal Reflection (Output change of the buffer is reflected back to the input signal)

Hi Team

We are using an SN74LVC3G17 as a buffer for 24Mhz Signal. The input of the buffer is about 3.3V peak to peak. In the output, we have kept a variable pot of about 0 - 500 Ohm.

While we change the pot, We are also getting more reflection over an input signal. 100 Ohm is connected to another end.

I still confuse output signal change in the buffer is reflected back to the input signal change.

The buffer itself does not affect its inputs. But switching large currents will generate large transients on the power supply rails (especially if they are not properly decoupled or if you a breadboarding), so when measuring the input signal relative to GND, you will see those transients.
