SN74AHCT1G08: Meaning of package suffix

Part Number: SN74AHCT1G08

Hello,

I would like you to confirm meaning of suffix "3" of "SN74AHCT1G08DBV3".
I can understand that this is related to material of lead from datasheet. However, I can not understand exact meaning this suffix.

I can understand meaning of "G4", "E4" of this device from following URL. However there is no information for only "3" in this page. Could you please tell me what only number of "3" mean ?

BR,

  • The "3" itself does not have any meaning and just shows that this is a variant of another device.

The DBV3 is not "green", i.e., its mold compound contains Antimony trioxide and Bromine flame retardants.

The electrical characteristics do not change. The bismuth in the lead finish is intended to prevent tin whiskers and should not affect solderability; if in doubt, ask your board manufacturer.

  • Hi Ryuiichi,

The suffix "3" is just to indicate an orderable part number of the base device SN74AHCT1G08 in the DBV package, as you have identified this variant has a "SNBI" lead finish. You can look up an orderable part numbers material content here: https://www.ti.com/materialcontent/home

The DBV3 orderable part number comes in a reel with 3000 units and has distinct device markings as shown in the package information below from the datasheet. The electrical characteristics do not change, the bismuth in the lead finish is intended to prevent tin whiskers.

    Regards,

    Sebastian
