Hi team,

My customer is consider to use TXS0102 for UART(4Mbps) (A-port 3.3V, B-port 5V).

But their concern is that they need to use ~2m cable between 2 boards.

They are currently testing it by using TXS EVM with soldering around 30cm cables in between two target boards and it work well,
but they are asking how to reduce the overshoot for the waveform.

Q1 : Does TXS0102 is right recommendation for them? (It is AVL device for them)

Q2 : Would you recommend the way how to reduce the overshoot in rising edge at TXS0102?

The TXS is a passive switch with rising-edge accelerators. For unidirectional signals, a level shifter like the TXU0102 would be more robust, and its symmetrical outputs are easier to terminate, if needed.

Hi Clemens,

Thank you for your recommendation of TXU0202(I think it's better of 1x A->B, 1x B->A device for my customer).

By seeing datasheet, is there no regulations like VCCA <= VCCB?

TXU devices have no restrictions on the supply voltages.
