SN74LVC373A: temp rating for SN74LVC373APWR and SN74LVC373ARGYR

Part Number: SN74LVC373A

Hi, there is some confusion on the temp rating in the datasheet. Table 7.3 on page 5 says it was changed to -40C to 125C for the SN74xxx, but the package option addendum on page 1 shows op temperature as -40C to 85C. Which is correct?

Parts in question:  SN74LVC373APWR and SN74LVC373ARGYR

Thanks.

  • Hey Kannan,

Thanks for bringing this inconsistency to our attention. The SN74LVC373A was temperature extended to +125C for all packages back in 2014, but it appears the datasheet was not completely updated to include the new specifications. I'm looking into the correct process for fixing this error now.

The spec values in the datasheet are for 85C. The following tables are what should have been added to the updated datasheet:

    Electrical Char

    Timing Requirements

    Switching Char

  • Hi Emrys,

Thank you for clarification. I assume TI will eventually issue a PCN (product change notice) for this datasheet correction. Am I right?

    Kind regards,

    Radek Jerabek

  • Hi Radek,

Yes, after the datasheet is updated there will be an informational PCN sent out regarding the changes.

This isn't a particularly fast process, so I posted the data here. I expect the datasheet to be updated sometime in the first quarter of next year.
