TXS0102: fall time spec

Part Number: TXS0102

Hi expert,

Customer used TXS0102 and have some questions about fall time measurement although so far no any issues.

They used it for i2c 1.8V <> 3.3V. there is a spec in DS that A port fall time 4.3 ~ 6.4ns.

Here is their measured result:

May I clarify with you if any concern about the result? Cause in i2c standard Fast Mode, fall time could be 20 × (VDD/ 5.5 V) ~300 ns as well.

Thanks,

Allan

  • Hey Allan,

What was the loading condition of the device at the time of testing? Note that the specs in d/s were taken with test setup as shown below:

  • Hi Allan

I am using TXS0102 between CPU and four I2C device(different sensors, LED driver, TPM).

I am only used command to control one device to get the waveform.

I would want to know what is possible impact of our result 14.97ns is over spec(4.3 ~ 6.4ns).

    Thanks.

  • Hey Jimmy,

With the given information it is difficult to make a clear judgment of any impacts on your system. If the seen fall time (tf) does not have any adverse effects on the device and surrounding I/Os, then it is ok to leave as is. Otherwise, feel free to share the schematic/ waveforms to see if there is anything we can do to debug.

    Regards,

    Jack
