I'm trying to understand if this circuitry is working correctly, does the monostable send an output signal once it is turned on? Should I pull B high and allow the input to dictate A? Should I also remove the capacitor from pin 3?

Hi Will,
This is the truth table for this device. /CLR and B can be used as rising edge detectors and /A is used as a falling edge detector. What is your use-case here?

Forgive me if I am misspeaking, I’m jumping into a half-finished project and trying to understand it myself. I got my hands on the SN74LVC1G123 design document and they stated the output will remain stable until the input triggers the output to become unstable, which is what we are looking for. I believe our PCM was not detecting error signals correctly and the circuit provided was an attempt to use the monostable to stretch the pulse signal, our PCM was having difficulties detecting it on its own.
Hi Will,
This usecase should work with a monostable. In this case, you can follow the 4th line in the truth table. Whenever B detects a signal, the monostable will output a pulse.
