Tool/software:
Hi everyone,
In the current setup, the chip has been tested on its own on a breakout board to make a 3V3-level and a 5V-level device communicate and it is not currently working. The 3V3 pins are 5V tolerant and I can confirm that without the level shifter inbetween, the comms are succesful.
In the datasheet it talks specifically about I2C and how due to it being open-drain, the IC is not recommended for that purpose. It does not mention anything about SPI comms which I'm guessing it's due to that type of comms being push-pull.
Can the TXB0108 be used to convert between 3V3 level SPI and 5V level SPI? Are there any ways of accomodating this chip to work in this scenario?
Regards,
Yiannis
The datasheet mentions many restrictions in section 8.3. It is likely that a breadboard will not work.
Anyway, use the TXU0304 instead.

I read the restrictions but I didn't think it would be that much of a problem. Very interesting! Thank you for your response.
Thank you for letting me know. Clemends Ladisch responded but I can wait for a TI person to respond as well.
I just saw this post here:
that talks about the same issue. I'll mark this as resolved then.
