Hi,

Please tell me the Pd(power dissipation) and θja, θjc (thermal resistance) of SN74BCT25244.

Our customer need this information for thermal design.

According to data sheet P1, 5V * 188mA * 8ch = 7.52W

On the other hand, Abs maximam ratings, any output in the low state = 376mA

So, I think static power disspation is 5V * 376mA * 8ch = 15.04W

This value is so large that I can not judge whether it is correct or not.

Hi Hiroshi,

Could I get the package the customer wants to use? This is need for the thermal data. Also for Pd there isn't a set number, it will involve some calculation and a few variables (these variables come from how the device will be used in the system). You shouldn't be running the device at the abs max values so I would avoid using them in the calculations. The link below will take you to an app note to help you calculate the Pd.
