SN54F74: Need IBIS model

Part Number: SN54F74
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74F74,

Hello,

Can TI provide me an IBIS model for SN54F74 in CDIP14 package? If not, I did find an IBIS model for the SN74F74. Would the N package model for the SN74F74 have same characteristics (i.e. drive strengths, rise/fall times, pin capacitance, etc.) in order to simulate the SN54F74 in CDIP14 package? If not, can you recommend or provide a model that would that would be a good model substitute?

What are the differences between the 54 and 74 prefix parts?

Thanks,

Scott

  • Scott,

The SN74F74 model will be representative for the SN54 version.

The SN74 series is catalog commercial, and the SN54 version is military version.

We used to modify the existing models for the plastic packages and use updated extracted parasitics for the package in the IBIS model.  However, our modelling team has evaluated this and is no longer using actual extracted values for RLC in new models.  This is due to their analysis and excessive pessimism when using this approach.  This is true for all new IBIS models, and not just the military ceramic models.

You can use the SN74F74 model for your simulation.
