Please help me with the SN7416 Hex inverter buffers / drivers with high-voltage outputs for gate driver. How to use this IC for driving my IGBT (+15V and -9V)?

Hi,

This device cannot be used for -9V operation. All buffers available in the logic portfolio are meant for digital signals which go from a positive voltage to GND.

Can you send me some typical schematic so that i can use this Ic as my input buffer to drive my IGBT. can i leave some channels floating or pulling them down through resistor. As i need two channels for totem pole operation.

It is not possible to use the SN7416 as a totem-pole gate driver because all outputs have a common ground.

What are the required gate current and switching speed?

Gate current 5Amp
