SN74LVCC3245A: Behavior under short condition(Urgent Help/)

Part Number: SN74LVCC3245A

Hello Team.

My customer found a product with a solder ball in the 14pin-15pin.
Solder balls are a problem on their manufacturing side. They just want to know its impact on IC.

<Question>
・If 14PIN and 15PIN are connected (short with solder ball), what kind of effect will it have inside the IC?

They are using 14pin-OPEN, use 15pin as Output to CCD side circuit

Any advice will be appreciated.

Jin

  • Hi Jin,

    The only issue that would occur here is if Pin 14 was driven HIGH at the same time as Pin 15 being driven low (or vice versa). This is called bus contention (see below FAQ). It seems like in your case that pin 14 is not being driven, so I don't think there's be any issues.

    Thanks!
