HI All,

Is it possible to update the TIVA via bluetooth? I see that from the Nano GUI it is using the DFU library. However, the library does not come with a source code. With USB, it is transferring to a specific location in TIVA and update it on the next power cycle. Is it possible to perform such procedure over Bluetooth? Where can I find more information about the USB update procedure? Thanks in advance

Hi,

For USB DFU update please refer to the example at C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\boards\ek-tm4c1294xl\boot_demo_usb. The boot_demo_usb demonstrates how to do bootloading using USB DFU. The Tiva device does not natively support Bluetooth.

HI Charles,

After reading the bootloader specification, here are my thoughts. I am not sure if it is possible to update via Bluetooth

The Bluetooth stacks resides in the TIVA chip. TIVA supports USB update by default via the bootloader. There is also customization allowed for UART, I2C and SSI. Is it possible to do this via Bluetooth when the Bluetooth stack is in the main processor? As I understand that the DFU is done in the bootloader as part of bootloader feature, without the Bluetooth stack in the bootloader, will I be able to modify the bootloader to support Bluetooth update?

Hi Suzanne,

Sorry, I don't have experience with OTA update via bluetooth. I suppose you will have a companion bluetooth device such as CC26xx processor to interface with the host. Please raise your question to CC26xx product lines and I hope they can provide some guidance on this. If you are going to ask questions to the bluetooth forum team, please make sure you select the product that are CC26xx like CC2640. You can modify the bootloader. If you can add the bluetooth stack that interface with the bluetooth processor like CC26xx in the bootloader then I can image it can work.
