How to calculate delay in TIVA C?

I don't recommend using a for() loop for a delay, since it's hard to calibrate and the compiler might "change the rules" on you.

Use __delay_cycles() [Ref CC User Guide (SPNU151V)  Table 5-3] or a timer.

One caution with __delay_cycles() on Cortex-M or Cortex-R based devices is that the actual delay can vary according to the number of wait states used by the memories or even upon code alignment. 

What is its unit of number of _delay_cycles() has some previous measurements.

And interrupts being enabled can also affect the elapsed delay when using __delay_cycles()
