Dear Sirs,
I would like to isolate my debugger XDS110 from the target MCU TMS570.
What you recommend to this ?
USB isolation or JTAG isolation any solution welcomed ?
Regards,
Piotr Rusak
Hi Piotr,
You can digital isolator to isolate JTAG signals. For example, ISO6762 has 6 channels: 4 forward channel and 2 reverse channels.
https://www.ti.com/product/ISO6762
4 forward channels can be used for TCK, TDI, TMS, nTRST
2 reverse channels are used for RTCK, and TDO
If you have more signals from JTAG emulator, you can use two 4 channels isolators, for example ISO7240
There are JTAG isolators, e.g. Blackhawk XDS110 JTAG Isolation Protection which requires the target to supply some power.
For USB isolation:
What you think about this solution, not cheap but from shelf :

The datasheet for the USB-4630 suggests it only supports USB3 3.0 SuperSpeed downstream devices.
Whereas the XDS110 is a USB 2.0 high speed device.
ALLDAQ ADQ-USB 3.0-ISO-PS supports SuperSpeed USB 3.0, but is Download compatible with USB 2.0/1.1/1.0.
I have used the previous generation ALLDAQ USB 2.0 High-Speed Isolator which allowed other USB 2.0 based JTAG debuggers to be isolated.
Thank you for helpful information.
I found https://intona.eu/en/products/7055-d#features which have highest issolation but is very expensive.
