TMS570LS1115: Internal crystal issue

Part Number: TMS570LS1115

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

During bench test, there is no problem with the small torque. High torque has the following error:

CAN communication is lost, supply current is reduced, ePWM output frequency is changed to 1k (designed to 10K).

The single-board simulation found that the behavior was similar to the one above when the crystal was shorted.  The customer would like to know if the TMS570LS1115 have an internal crystal and which pin is powered by the signal pin corresponding to the external crystal oscillator.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

Does the voltage regulator on your board supply enough current to the motor?

The device has a internal oscillator. The internal oscillator is mainly used to monitor the crystal input frequency. If the frequency falls out of a fixed range, the clock detect switches the clock from the oscillator to an internally generated, free-running frequency (generated by the low-power oscillator LPO).

The external crystal is connected to device's OSCIN, OSCOUT and Kevin-GND.
