Hi All,

We are working on SCI module for communication between two device. In this project we are using multi buffer to handle communication more easily than before but after configurations are made by us we couldnt see any data on terminal. Where is the issue ?

Hi Furkan,

I compared your sci initialization code with working code and i noticed below things:

In your code

i) you are trying to SET the 10th bit of the GCR1 register, i don't know why you are doing this but this is reserved bit according to TRM right?

ii) And similarly, you are also trying to write the 7 to the 16, 17 and 18 bits of the FORMAT register, and again these bits also reserved bits according to TRM

Obviously we never know, how this bits will affect the behavior of SCI peripheral and we should not write to these bits. After modifying the code as below and again your SPI is working.

Hi Jagadish,

We want to use UART with Multi-Buffered. But it looks like you disabled multi-buffering via the comment line. (sci.c line 172)

Hi Serkan,

Sorry, it's my bad. I missed the multibuffered requirement.

You did everything correct about the multibuffered SCI configuration.

The only issue is at writing, actually for multibuffered we should not use the "sciSend" function because this function will write data to the "sci->TD" register.
