Install freezes. Screenshot attached with all relevant info. Ignoring installation freeze, get runtime missing error.
Hello Dan,
I apologize for the difficulties getting the demo software installed. I have assigned your post to a member of our software team. They should get back with you soon.
In the mean time, you can also look at this thread to see what was done in another case similar to what you are describing.

Also, in the mean time, you can have a look at a getting started tutorial on the web to help you get familiar with the tools such as CCS, halcogen and the HW. Have a look here and see if you can work through this exercise.

I had already looked through the similar support threads and did not find a solution. I also don't have the launchpad eval board you mentioned as part of the tutorial link. We paid $200 for a TMS570LC43 eval board which is what I'm trying to get working. It included an install CD with CCSv6 which also had installation issues when I tried to check for and install updates from the help menu. I'm really surprised at how poorly things work out of the box.
Just an update. Although the executable installer failed for some reason, I was able to manually install the labview runtime executable and uniflash tool and get the demo running. Some constructive feedback - someone should document exactly what the installer is installing so in the event of some weird incompatibility, one could manually get a complete install. A list of files and separate install packages would be helpful. In it's current state, I had to reverse engineer the install process (which was a pain).
Could someone provide the source for both the demo program (as a CCS project) and the GUI composer source (also as a CCS project) so I could see how the Hercules safety demo was done? I know there is example source supplied in the Halcogen environment, but it'd be nice to see how the whole project was put together.
Thanks, Dan
Hi Dan,
I am glad that you were able to get the demo code running and, again, offer my apologies for the issues that you have experienced. As was explained to me, there was some issue created in the last release of the installer where the Labview runtime library was not installed correctly or there was some issue with the registry entry for it. Unfortunately, I don't have all the details.
In regard to the Demo source, there should be a copy (including a CCS project) installed by the installer. Since you are using the TMS570LC43 HDK, I am not certain of the exact directory name but it should be located in a directory path similar to the one shown below:
C:\ti\Hercules\Hercules Safety MCU Demos\TMS570LC4xx_target_sources\build
What may be different is the folder name "TMS570LC4xx_target_sources" but should be recognizable as the source for the microcontroller you are using.
Also, I am going to forward your concerns to our software manager so that he can disseminate your feedback to his team.
Again, sincerest apologies for the issues you have had to fight through.
Thanks for the quick response. I was able to view the source. I have another question, but it's related to the JTAG interface of the TMS570LC4357. I'll start a new thread. Thanks.
