TMS320F28335: the ePWM module: max value of the time base clock TBCLK

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hello,

I have a question on the ePWM module of the TMS320F28335 device.

Specifically it is on the time base clock TBCLK.

It is written the Technical Refrence Manual that TBCLK = SYSCLKOUT / (HSPCLKDIV × CLKDIV).

Let us suppose that the max SYSCLKOUT of 150MHz is used.

In this case, can I use the TBCLK of 150MHz with CLKDIV=0 and HSPCLKDIV=0 for this TMS320F28335 device?

I have found that the max value of TBCLK is not given anywhere in its datasheet.

Thank you for your guidance.

With regards,

JS Yoo

  • TBCLK can run at the same speed as SYSCLK on F28335. It usually makes sense to run it at SYSCLK because that give you the best resolution. Sometime when creating very slow PWM signals it can help to slow down TBCLK to avoid over running the TB counter, but this is rare need.
