TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: InstaSPIN-FOC ACIM motor identification problems

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28027, TMS320F280049, C2000WARE, MOTORWARE, LAUNCHXL-F28027, , LAUNCHXL-F280049C

Hi,

For our new product we want to use your InstaSPIN-FOC with the FAST observer on ACIM motor with the TMS320F280049 (Gen 3). We are currently use the TMS320F28027 (Gen 2).

Unfortunately, the new C2000Ware_MotorControl_SDK (5.01.00.00) doesn't work. The identification with the "is05_motor_id – Motor Parameters Identification" produces anomalous parameters.

The old version of the SDK motorware_1_01_00_18 with the "Lab 2b – Using InstaSPIN out of User RAM and/or FLASH" works very well.

Why has there been a software regression in the algorithm between the old generation and the new ? It is important for us to know when the new C2000 can identify correctly an ACIM motor.

Texas Instruments advised us to start the new designs on the Gen 3 C2000 for end-of-life and performances reasons. Moreover the code is supposed to be compatible between generations:

For help, here our results :

 LAUNCHXL-F28027 with the TMDSHVMTRINSPIN:

 LAUNCHXL-F280049C with the TMDSHVMTRINSPIN:

The Rr and magnetic current are not valid with the new software. The other parameters seem equivalents.

Yes, it's the same. The only difference is that the FAST library is changed from fixed-point to floating-point.

We will check if's ok for the software FAST library and let you know later.
