For the F28335 Control CARD, is it mandatory to use separate analog and digital grounds? can't we have a common ground

  • Hi Deepak,

Its recommended to have 2 separate grounds and is a good practice. Single/Common ground throughout would disrupt your analog signals.

  • Gautam is generally correct. However, this is a tradeoff between complexity, performance, and cost. If you need the absolute best analog signal integrity, yes having them separate has its benefits if implemented correctly. For a lot of applications, keeping your Voltage sources for Analog (VDDA) and digital (VDDIO) separate is enough.
