CCS Support,

When I debug in CLA Hands On Workshop_Solution the D9 and D10 on Launchpad are turned on all the time. I recovered the Launchpad with the program - example_28379D_LaunchPad and D9 and D10 become blinking but whenever the Hands On Worshop_Solution debut is implemented the trouble repeats again. Thus I can't continue to repeat CLA Hands On Workshp - Part 3.

    CCS Support,

    I debug in C2000Ware_Device Support_F2837x_examples_cpu1_cla_adc_fir32 and it encounters the same trouble i.e. whenever debugging D9 and D10 on LaunchPad become always lighting.

    Jingtai,

    The example project that ships in the LaunchPad blinks the LEDs by togging a GPIO pin. 

    The CLA hands-on workshop project does not toggle this GPIO and therefore the LED will not blink.

    Lori,

    After debugging woth CLA Hands On Workshop program the LEDs will not blink when the LaunchPad is connected next time unless the LaunchPad is recovered. Therefore it is not known if the LaunchPad is connected correctly.

    Jingtai,

    The LaunchPad (LP) example application  resides in the flash of the launchpad when it is brand new.  The LP example application runs from flash and is executed by the C28x CPU.  This application blinks 2 LEDs by toggling GPIO pins in the C28x code.

    If you load a another application into the flash of the C28x, then CCS will erase the LP example application.  This is why the LEDs no longer blink.

    You will still be able to connect to the LP.  You connected to the LP when you restored (reprogrammed) the LP example application.  Once this application was programmed, the LEDs started blinking again.

    Thanks for your explaination. Alright, I continue repeat CLA Hands On Workshop.

    I imported fft_io.GraphProp but my graph likes

    During CLA-Mode debug the error is encounted

    I checked the folder solution_ccs_CLA_CODE there is no this .out file.

    Open the 'Binaries" under the project.

    Right click on the binary and select properties. 

    This will show the full path to the .out file. 

    See the screenshot below.   In my screenshot one binary corresponds to the C28x build and one to the CLA build.

    There is no .out file in my folder. I'm going to download CLA Hands On Workshop again to check if this file is lost.

    The first screenshot shows "C28_CODE" in the path.  This is the output from the C28x build configuration.

    The 2nd screenshot shows "CLA_CODE" in the path.  Please change to the CLA build configuration, rebuild the project, and check the directory again.

    After rebuild project there is no .out file.

    I download the CAL Honds On Workshop. There is the .out in the folder.

    But after building project the .out file is deleted from the foler.

    Another issue:

    In C28 Mode

    This error is encountered whe I followed the training video to do

    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal secondary id (cannot be empty or contain a colon) (C:\ti\ccs910\ccs\eclipse\configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\481\0\.cp\resources\dvtviews.js#131)

    I checked the folder that like this

    In CLA Mode I tried another way

    I connect target and load symbols and the .out file is loaded. After debugging it is deleted and there are many errors.

    In C28 Mode the .out file is not deleted.

    Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce this problem.  What are the "many errors"  related to after debugging?

    These errors indicate that you have a build error and that is the reason the .out file is not generated. 

    When you imported the projects into CCS, did you enable the checkbox to "copy projects into workspace"? If so, the original workshop project will remain untouched and you can work on a copy of the project in your workspace. If you did not check that box, then the project will remain in its original location. During build, the original .out will be deleted and re-written with a new one from the build. However, for some reason it appears that your build failed, hence a .out file was not generated. 

    I'm not sure why you are getting build errors, but if you can copy the entire output in the CCS build console to a text file and attach it here we can try to help identify the reason for the build errors. Also let us know which version of CCS and compiler tools you are using. Until the build errors are resolved, there will be no .out file to load and debug.

    However, you should be able to simply load and run the original, unmodified F28379D_CLAHandsOn_Solution.out file from the directory C:\ti\CLA_HandsOnWorkshop_170317\CLA_HandsOnWorkshop_Camtasia2017\solution\ccs\CLA_CODE. If you happened to delete it based on above assumption, then you can extract the workshop project files again to retrieve the originals.

    I didn't enable "copy project into workplace". Now I have enabled it and the .out file is not deleted.

    I have saved project build log but when I send the log file in this forum the error is encounted.

    I need to see the build errors that you experience when building the project. The project archive does not help me because I have already verified that the project builds fine for me. I need to see your build log that shows the errors.

    Please try attaching the build log again using the "Insert File" icon.

    Thank you for attaching. The log does not show the compiler build steps as you probably did a Build instead of Rebuild, but looking at the linker build step I can see that your build is missing the F2837xD_FLASH_lnk.cmd. I don't know how that happened. Did you make any changes to the project after importing it?

    Here is a screenshot of the project after I import it into my workspace (with "copy project to workspace" checked). Note the file F2837xD_FLASH_lnk.cmd is part of the project.

    I am also attaching my build log here for comparison. Take a look specifically at the link step and notice that yours is missing the "C:/ti/CLA_HandsOnWorkshop_170317/CLA_HandsOnWorkshop_Camtasia2017/common/cmd/F2837xD_FLASH_lnk.cmd"

    I didn't make any changes to the project after importing it.

    I checked the CLA Hands On Workshop I downloaded and there is no the F2837xD_FLASH_lnk.cmd.

    That indicates that the file is excluded from the project build. More information on excluded files here:

    The reason you do not see the F2837xD_FLASH_lnk.cmd in your Windows Explorer is that the file is not physically inside the project folder but is instead linked to the project. http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide/ccs_project-management.html#adding-or-linking-source-files-to-project

    I don't know how or why that file got excluded, but the file needs to be "included" in the build. To do that, right-click on the file name in the Project Explorer view and de-select "Exclude from build".  Then rebuild the project. That should resolve the build error.

    I enabled parallel build.

    And did as you instructed. Now the debug in CLA Mode is implemented.
