MSP430F5659: Error? in Datasheet

Hi,

I have a customer question on the MSP430F5659 datasheet.

"From my understanding, datasheet MSP430F5659 has an error:

- For logic devices, TJ(max) is equal to the maximum storage temperature (Tstg(max)) as listed in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table of the datasheet, unless otherwise specified.
- For MSP430F5659, Tj is specified. I do not understand why Tstg(max) = 150°C, it should be Tj(max)"

Not necessarily, max storage temperature is based on the plastic of the package, while max junction temperature has to do with the current through the active materials, aluminum interconnects and maybe some other materials.

Hello Emil,

I agree with Keith. One is storage temperature, and has to do with physical limitations. The other is absolute max operating temperature and had to do with the performance of the silicon while running.
