CAPTIVATE-PHONE: Is it possible to display specific Element Data directly in the Design Centre GUI?

Part Number: CAPTIVATE-PHONE

Hello all,

I am quite new to using the Design Centre GUI and the Captivate-PHONE board and require your kind help to understand if there is a way to implement a functionality.

The Design Centre GUI has a data logging capability which allows logging of sensor data to a .csv file in the project workspace.

However, I want the data to be displayed directly in the GUI design area itself in real-time.

Is there a way to avoid using the 'Channel Bar Chart' tab in the properties window and directly display a specific element data value, e.g. Count in the UI design area directly?

If so, I request you to please guide me through the necessary steps required to do so.

If there is any work around or other options that I could consider, please feel free to share them with me.

Your support would be extremely useful to me for my project. Looking forward to your response.

Thank you and best regards,

Bhindhiya Raja

If you installed CapTIvate Deisgn Center, you can find the user guide in this folder:(This example is for v1.83.00.17)

    file:///C:/ti/msp/CapTIvateDesignCenter_1.83.00.17/CapTIvateDesignCenter/docs/users_guide/html/CapTIvate_Technology_Guide_html/markdown/ch_designcenter.html

And there are some guide will help you:

    Thanks!

  • Hi ,

    Thank you for your response.

In the GUI, the sensor measurement data is displayed only for the Slider sensor and the Wheel sensors.

The other sensors simply indicate a touch or proximity without a value unless we open the Bar chart or Channel table and watch the change.

I would like to display one particular data element, the 'Count' data values directly in the GUI along with the sensor (ButtonGroup or Proximity sensor) in real time.

I have gone though the User Guide but it does not provide any method to modify how a particular sensor is displayed in the design panel.

For eg., if I have put a Proximity sensor in the design panel and I want to display the 'Count' data values along with the sensor symbol in the design area (without having to open the Bar Chart or the Channel Table), I don't see any explanation as to how this can be done in the guide.

If I have missed something in the guide or if my requirement in unclear, please let me know.

Any suggestions or guidance as to how this can be done is most welcome.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Bhindhiya.

  • Hi Bhindhiya,

You can double-click MCU or sensor block in GUI, then you can find those information, like below:

    Thanks!

  • Hi Johnson,

Yes, thank you I have been able to do this.

I was wondering if there was any way I could simply display a specific data element alone for example, 'Count' data directly in the design panel.

I wish to avoid navigating to the the channel table from the MCU or sensor block.

Please let me know if there is anyway to do this. Looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Bhindhiya.

  • Hi Bhindhiya,

This GUI is design for evaluate performance and tuning parameter, thus we put all information into this GUI.

And if you just would like to know some little para, maybe you can read those data via software:

    Thanks!
